IntroductionAtletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone had a coming together with Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone had a coming together with Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl on the touchline on Wednesday night as their respective sides did battle in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Atletico won the game 2-1, thanks to goals from Rodrigo De Paul and Samuel Lino in the first half, which gave the hosts a half-time ascendancy in front of their own fans at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium.
Sebastien Haller then made it a tense ending for the hosts after grabbing one back in the 81st minute, but Atletico held on to secure a potentially vital one-goal advantage headed to Germany.
However one of the biggest talking points from the match was a clash between Simeone and Dortmund sporting director Kehl.
In the second half, Emre Can went down injured yet Atletico continued the game and counter attacked against the Dortmund defence - something that seemingly did not go down well with the visitors.

Simeone and Kehl were then seen squaring off, with the Atleti boss pushing his rival twice in the chest before they were separated.
'We shouldn't talk about the scene, but about what happened on the pitch,' Kehl said after the match. 'We played a very good game in the second half.
'Emotions come together in this situation. Tonight was about standing your ground, that was the case in the situation.
'It wasn't anything more than that. It was about an incident on the pitch. He knows that, I know that and then it was done. Let's leave it at that.'
While it is not an official law in the game, on most occasions a player goes down hurt a team will put the ball out of play so they can receive treatment.
Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, who was not involved in the clashing of heads, was more philosophical about the event, and insisted it was 'nothing new'.
'That's part of it,' Terzic said.
'You not only need eleven players on the pitch, but also all the boys on the bench.

Kehl admitted after the game that the incident was nothing more than 'standing your ground'
'The fact that things can get hot in the coaching zone is nothing new and doesn't surprise us.'
Simeone's side pulled off a vintage win that was characteristic of his side's DNA, as they earned their boss a 50th win in the competition.
Despite having just 34 per cent of the ball, they managed 14 shots and nine on target, creating five big chances in the game.
However there were also 10 fouls from Atletico as they disrupted their opponent's attempts to put together any rhythm throughout the game.
